Iran's Nuclear Material

In the midst of all the concern about Israel's dealing with the Turkey-sponsored Gaza relief flotilla, the news that Iran now has enough fissionable material for two nuclear weapons has been lost in the fray. The timing of the flotilla fracas makes you wonder if part of the objective was to mask the news about Iran's progress toward nuclear arms.

Certainly the flotilla flap has served to give Turkey reason to change their position on sanctions against Iran. Without Turkey's cooperation, there will be no sanctions against Iran. These developments have made it clear to Israel that the world will do nothing to stop Iran from making good on their existential threat to Israel and so is planning to permanently station a submarine carrying nuclear cruise missiles in the Persian Gulf.

When is Israel likely to do something about Iran's nuclear weapon capabilities? They can not wait until they have one because it's use on Israel would mean the end of Israel. They could wait until the world is more sympathetic toward Israel but that will not make any difference since they will be condemned by the world when they take action against Iran anyway.

What is Israel going to do about Iran? It is questionable that conventional bunker-busters will do the job and their effective use will require the kind of multiple-sortie logistics that only the United States could muster. The Israelis know that the Obama Administration will not offer this up; they are on their own. So what ever Israel does, it will have to be quick and decisive. Thus using nuclear weapons is their only option. It is as if the world is pushing them to use them; daring them to draw first.

It seems like unseen forces are orchestrating events to destabilize the situation in the Middle East. It is easy to dismiss all this thinking that we have lived for 60+ years with nuclear weapons and they have not been used because this is too terrible to comprehend. But that was before such weapons have fallen in the hands of people who advocate suicide bombing and think that it is their religious duty to kill as many infidels as they can.

Of course any strike on Iran will cause Syria and Hezbollah to rain down missiles on Israel so dealing with that has to be part of the equation for Israel. With nuclear weapons being used in Iran, Israel couldn't be condemned any more if they used one on Damascus to cut off the head of the snake that is attacking them. Israel needs a "final" solution to their neighbors harassing them over their right to exist; using a nuke on one of the ring-leaders might just do that. The Bible tells us that this will happen, “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap” (Isaiah 17:1, NKJ).

Developments are happening quickly... Now is not a time to be without Jesus Christ in your life.
