Pushing Israel to the Edge

A recurring theme in the trends we are seeing today are the unintended consequences of actions taken that are contrary to God's will. We are seeing this today in the U.S. policy forcing Israel to make peace with those who consider it their religious duty to rid the world them.

The Obama Administration sees Israel as a destabilizing factor in the Middle East and so have been taking actions to limit their political and military power while building up their enemies. Forgetting the fact that this amounts to poking a finger in the apple of God's eye (see Zechariah 2:8), this might be a workable strategy if it were not for the real destabilizing factors in the region. Former U.S. Gen. Paul Vallely reveals how Iranian submarines have been equipping Israel's enemies with Scud missiles armed with chemical weapons.

The United States and Israel's enemies are pushing Israel to use a final resolution to the Palestinian problem. It is likely that all this is going to come to a head by the fall of this year. The radical Islamic Mullahs running Iran and their proxies want to draw Israel into a conflict which they see as a necessary prerequisite for their messiah, al Mahdi to emerge. And Israel is being pressured to do something about Iran's nuclear ambitions before they loose their technological edge.

You would think that there is a grand conspiracy to cause war to happen in the Mideast. There is indeed a conspiracy but it is not a human one. "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12, NKJ). Fallen angels are working behind the scenes tempting people in key positions to take actions that look like world leaders are conspiring to together against Israel. This is evidence that God is removing His restraint of evil in the world; we are seeing more irrational ideas being put into action... "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting" (Romans 1:28).

God promised Israel, "I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you" (Genesis 12:3). The United States has unwittingly decided to risk the curse of God in not standing by Israel in the face of their terrorist enemies. This was inevitable per Zechariah 12:3 and reveals how close we are to the Lord's return. Hopefully the Rapture of the Church will happen before the full consequences of our Mideast policies are fully realized.
