Everyone knows that eventually Israel will have to do something about Iran's serious desire to wipe them off the map. No other country is going to do anything about Iran other than pay lip service to ineffective economic sanctions. The only question is when this attack will happen.
It looks like Iran is doing everything they can to provoke Israel into attacking them sooner rather than later. Their latest provocation is an announcement to build two new uranium enrichment facilities protected inside mountains. And recently Iranian president Ahmadinejad made a public statement that, "If the Zionist regime should repeat its mistakes and initiate a military operation, then it must be resisted with full force to put an end to it once and for all."
It is interesting to note that it is also generally recognized that when Israel attacks Iran, it will spark a serious regional conflict. Indeed this is what the leaders of Iran want to do; the President of Iran thinks it is his purpose in life to start a conflict between nations that is serious enough for the Muslim messiah, al Mahdi, to come on the scene and unite the world under Islam.
Israel has been at war before and we have not seen the al Mahdi (aka the Antichrist) emerge before; so what will be different about this next time? This time Turkey is aligned with the Islamic enemies of Israel as prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and the Islamic world has tasted how effective a disruption of Mid East oil supply can be to crash the world economy. And this is not to mention all the other signs we are seeing in nature, technology, society, and world politics.
The Lord said in Zechariah 12:3, "it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it" (NKJ). There are many God-haters who seek to challenge this promise; we are fast approaching the day the Lord will show them who He is.
Come soon Lord Jesus!
